Draw.io has been one of the most powerful tools I have in my arsenal.
It's easy to use, has hundreds of templates and serves millions of purposes. The navigat
ion is easy, the UI is intuitive, and it never lags.
Nothing at all. I simply love this tool!
1. Mind mapping
2. Flowcharts and diagrams
3. Brainstorming sessions
4. Visual representation
5. User journey mapping
6. Diagram creation for different purposes - process, data models, charts, etc.
Simplicity. What I love most about Draw.io is its standalone version. It does not need any web app or subscription to access its features like other tools. It lets me use all its functions and capabilities by just dragging and dropping. I don’t have to spend much time learning how to make blueprints with this tool.
I like everything about it. It’s easy and hassle-free to work on tasks with this tool. The only issue I have sometimes is saving a specific design. It needs some manual input every time I want to save a project.
With this tool, I can create different blueprints and UML diagrams such as class diagrams, activity diagrams, and flowcharts that describe the several dependencies among any software, This tool is handy for me since software development relies a lot on various UML diagrams.
Easy to use
Free
Straightforward features and intuitive to understand and navigate
Able to export in different formats
Easy to customise
It has pre-loaded templates you can start from or a blank canvas to draw your own for the most experienced
Saving patterns are a little annoying when wanting to change location
A little old-fashioned in look, but it does not affect its performance; it would do with a bit of modernisation.
Essential functions but excellent features for a free system. It gives all you need for simple charts and flows.
Mapping process flows that are not too complex for my team to read and understand, summarising longer process documents in a chart. Making step-by-step guides with checklists that are easy to follow.
Draw.io is very easy to use to create org chart, flow charts, technical drawings, engineering diagrams and other uses. I personally use it to map out systems in my business and CRM.
The app does what it is supposedto do I haven't come across anything I needed it to do that wasn't supported. I do tend to my make drawing in a poor scale and I suppose that could be fired because when it's done I can't print it in the format I need it to - but i think there is a way to fix the canvas size to prevent this problem.
I am a visual prersona nd when i wanted to map out processes in my business I needed a program with a big enough canvas and different objects I can use to link the flow chart. Draw.io did not disappintme and its my go to for similar projects.
Draw.io is a lightweight and straightforward tool just like MS Paint. It is constructive to draw a lot of types of charts and easy to export and share. You can also save it in its file format to resume the work later. A lot of templates too.
UI looks a little old. I've used other apps similar to it and I felt it had a comparatively poor UI. It needs development on that part. Also, I felt the help is not that supportive.
It has solved a lot of problems in creating charts and diagrams for presentations. It supports a lot of file types which is helpful since a lot of people have different devices which may result in file support being unsupported. So, Figma covers most of the file types. It has also helped in working with people online collboratively.
Application is Web-based, with no application installation required. Lots of shapes to choose from. Easy to learn. Saves to different cloud-based solutions or direct to your device.
Have not come across anything I dislike, yet.
Creating diagrams for clients and for my own notes. With IT, words go so far. Being able to visualize a network diagram is key.
1. In business we usually use closed-source expensive tools, but I came to know this tool a few years ago as it was plugin confluence and from that time onwards I found it a very powerful tool for daily architecture activities.
2. Can be used locally without login required
3. Can also be used online on web site
4. Diagrams can be exported as Images with very high resolution
5. Schema, colors and different settings works perfect and very fast.
1. Of course as a lite version of a more expensive tool, we don't expect that it covers everything but also some new basics in the diagrams are still not supported. For example, in sequence diagrams, you can not have all features in yet.
2. When you use it online, there is no way to make the diagrams private which is then no suitable for confidential information.
1. Architecture diagrams and daily diagrams activities.
2. Architecture use cases or even timelines of small projects can be handled using the tool as well.
3. Export the diagrams and use PNG images for example to share the outcome.
4. Included in other tools like confluence.
it gives easy way and access to various flow charts that we can use
nothing as of now everything's pretty easy to use and helful
not aware of it.
Draw.io is free to use and it has lots of widgets to create what you need. All you have to do is drag and drop your elements to the drawable area and it will even adjust the size automatically. You can also export your progress as an image or save it as a draft.
Although it is not a major drawback if draw.io can provide a register user feature that will enable users to save the progress online in the cloud itself then it will be very helpful, because right now you have to save the draft either in your local system or somewhere in the cloud.
I use draw.io for creating:
- ER Diagrams for database schema
- Flowchart for a given feature
- Block diagram of microservice
- High level designing
- System design interviews
