The Business Talent Group is in an ideal place matching company needs with highly skilled and experienced independent consultants on demand. BTG is easy to deal with, has an excellent team in place, does good work in seeking assignments and has high standards of performance.

Have been a consultant through BTG since 2017 and have not found anything to dislike.

BTG has a presence and access to certain companies where I don't. Also, their continuous presence enables the continued identification of projects that I otherwise would not know about. Finally, they bring to the clients a full range of qualified consultants allowing the whole pool to effectively compete with the large - and far more expensive - consulting firms.

BTG is a very well recognized and well regarded brand; companies who use BTG know that their consultants are vetted and have substantial experience. As a result, BTG's consultants have the benefit of coming into an organization with a positive association. BTG works with outstanding clients and is able to source very interesting, strategic, meaningful consulting engagements. Compared to other consulting platforms, they offer among the highest quality engagements with a breadth of top tier companies. The work is often long term with the possibility for follow-on work, consultants are often enmeshed with the client in a true partnership, and the emphasis is on the quality of the engagement versus churning out a large quantity of engagements. The true value of BTG is in the high quality consulting engagements they are able to provide to their consutling network.

In addition to the work they source, the BTG team is also incredibly accessible, helpful, and responsive as they coordinate the relationship between their consultants and the clients.

As with any third party, the consultant must adjust their hourly rate in order to allow for BTG's compensation. In addition, as someone who has taken the time to build and brand my own consulting business, I must leave behind my personal branding to serve as a BTG consulant.

Compared to other consulting platforms, BTG is higher quality and higher touch. They source a nice breadth of project types acrss a range of industries and the work is strategic and meaningful.

Interim positions working on worthwhile projects with teams both junior and senior that make a difference to both the project and the businesses they work for

A low success rate in getting projects, many people competing and a significant downward pressure on daily rates

Ensure you have other sources of income as you will wait a long time, be prepared for pricing pressure, be specific in your expertise, general management is a commodity and not valued, the business has become much more about specific technical expertise.

Short term interim projects allowing me to build my real estate business, continue to be engaged in mainstream business issues

I worked on a number projects sourced by BTG, ranging from one-person project lasting few weeks to multiple workstreams collaborating several months. Initially, I worked on my core sector healthcare and over time I had the pleasure to work on new sectors such as industrials. The topics were very interesting (M&A, updating 5 year targets with senior country leadership, ...) and when needed, I could access the industry experts and visual designers from BTG and produce very high quality deliverables.

So far my experience was positive. The daily rate is compatible with what I normally charge in Germany, which I really appreciate.

I enjoy working with the BTG team. I have met many of the principals in person, and it's always been an easy collaboration. Projects are high-quality and a good fit for my experience. A wide network of consultants helps us round out teams with almost any niche expertise. I do a lot of global work, so I also appreciate the frequently global scope of the projects.

I have not experienced a downside so far (over 7 years). I have the flexibility of taking on BTG projects depending on the rest of my workload. Most consultants are expected to have their own workstreams anyway, so not relying exclusively on BTG for new projects.

1 - I am maximizing my time on project work instead of on business development. 2 - It allows me exposure to new clients and industries, and helps to keep me up-to-date on industry developments. 3 - Expands my circle of other consultants.

Our dedicated partners at BTG have truly become a part of the fabric of Heidrick & Struggles. They are knowledgable, collaborative, responsive, and overall a great complement to the high-level of work that clients have come to expect from H&S. With their capabilities ranging from on-demand talent to special projects and with their comprehensive database of freelance talent, together we have become a truly dynamic team.

Heidrick has a number of offerings across our search and consulting business lines; sometimes I fear that BTG gets caught in the shuffle and is not always given the attention it warrants. I also feel that we at Heidrick need to be better about understanding BTG's full capabilities, which go way beyond that of "on-demand talent."

BTG has helped our internal teams help our clients in spaces where we previously may not have been able to. An example: an existing client was looking to build out their human resources team and needed help getting the team off the ground; BTG was able to bring in experts in the space to move that company's efforts forward quickly and efficiently, with great results.

The staff are quick to review your proposal, schedule a phone call, learn more about your qualifications. They are very responsive.

Not a fault of BTG, but often clients post projects that don't end up going anywhere - which is a waste of time and energy.
