Easy click-to-copy CSS code for quick dev, easy assets export. You can open Avocode in browser, so it makes it very portable.
When Avocode launches, you have to manually open all tabs again
Easy assets export, quick prototyping of new features. Also Avocode is great bridge between graphic designer (osX + sketch) and coder (win10). Also Avocode solves great versioning, so when our graphic designer uploads new version of design to dropbox, I can easily sync new version.
In the past we had developers placing requests for assets, the designer would then export these 1 by 1 and inform the developer. Now one of the features we use the most is being able to let the developer export all assets individually without a designers.
We did not find any downsides. We had to switch our way of working a little but that was only for the better.
If you are looking for a tool to help you take control of your designs then this is it. Perfect for any design agency.
We have brought structure and control to our designs. Developers have all these collaboration tools like version control. With Avocode, we also have them for design!
We've totally migrated all our projects from Z***in and working with Avocode only.
Shortly, good thing is that our developers are available to upload files, not only designers, as it was with Z***in. And its more faster.
All good at this stage. Nobody's perfect, so I think that these guys will definitely find a place for improvements.
All good at this stage.
With just one app, you could easily open three different image formats, which are, in some cases, bind to the operating system. That's a great time & money saving hack for front-end developers who open the design and then use the measures, colors, etc.
There are few things which are not solved yet, for example, REM units size - in the app, there is just one REM = x 1px setting, but in reality, you might want to set it up per project or maybe even layout size (mobile, tablet, desktop) not to think about.
The rest would be sharing variables, having a mobile, tablet or, desktop design under one project (you can't do that when you are a freelancer not with a company subscription).
I would love to have improvements for offline work too.
Save time, keeps versions for you, easy to use & at the same time very powerful.
I have bought Adobe CS 6 many years ago and tried to resist to spend on subscription, which would be quite expensive and I would use it just for opening the files. Avocode fixed that and what's more - it's easier to access data I need and I can even open new formats which I couldn't even with Adobe CC.
Really easy to inspect PSD of Sketch files, not design software knowledge needed. Cool collaboration tools for the team.
There is no way to keep in sync the files from your computer or an online service like Google Drive, every time a edition is made, someone has to upload the new file version.
Look for tools to integrate your mockups (you can use PSD, XD or Sketch files), then go for the trial (only 14 days) and start enjoying a new and easy way to check your designs. Developers can get a lot from the app in a couple minutes after start using it.
We load our app designs and our developers use Avocode to get all measurements, styles and assets from design files.
Avocode let you FULL review a PSD file (colors in Hex, measures, fonts, text styles, etc...) in linux without need of wine or Photoshop at all. Is even better than Gimp.
Avocode uses Electron as backend but is ok, isn't heavy at all, you can listen music, have your favorite IDE open and everything is fine. No more Virtualbox or Wine running in background.
Additionally Avocode offers client revisions on the PSD. The designer can upload the PSD file, the final client can make a review, put commentaries, etc. in real-time while your are online at the same time picking up the code.
The short trial, but is ok, is an awesome software that deserves the price. Is a great piece of software.
If you are using linux or a low RAM device, Avocode can handle that PSD file for you.
Developing Front-End web based on PSD designs in Linux.
Adobe Photoshop have not native support in Linux. Linux is my main development system, I really like it. When I discovered Avocode was awesome. Avocode offers a lot of features in PSD handling with a low system resources consumption, no more Wine, no more buggie photoshop.
Avocode is the better solution right now according to my requirements.
- Enables designers to reduce time spent on the tedious task of "marking for export" within Adobe XD. In spite of this, developers have access to the assets automatically. In addition, they may be able to choose the export parameters based on the technology of the tool they are creating. It is compatible with any graphic design tool that supports advanced cutting capabilities.
It is not very secure to allow everyone to download the source file. In comparison with its competitors, it has a high price.
File sharing for developers was our main use case. Models were created without having to worry about software or how developers would integrate them.
I love the simplicity for the UI team to be able to drop in files and have them immediately be able to be consumable by the dev team. It saves so much time on development and the UX team-- the developers get their questions answered quickly and the UI team has to do significantly less manual labor. Highly recommend!
Uploads and loading can be slow, but really there's not much to complain about. Works great!
Significantly improve quality of UI and reduces time spent on both the designers and developers. Just helps streamline workflows all around!
I can upload layouts directly for layout, and not install any plug-ins, and also do not have Photoshop or Sketch
The program sometimes takes a long time to process already parsed styles
I use this program for the layout of web interfaces. It allows you to do it faster and more convenient than in Photoshop, Sketch or Illustrator.
