Ansys ED: Best-in-Class Antenna Modeling with a Great GUI and Top-Notch Support
What do you like best about Ansys Electronics Desktop?
Ansys ED is the best antenna modelling tool I've used in the recent past and I personally feel there's nothing closer that can do high speed and RF analysis much better than this. The GUI is very good and the support is absolutely top notch. Overall I'm very satisfied with the tool
What do you dislike about Ansys Electronics Desktop?
The analysis and simulation time is too high for basic configuration laptop making it harder for students to use it. Even for enterprise clients like me I had to switch to a 40GB RAM laptop to actually run the simulation.
What problems is Ansys Electronics Desktop solving and how is that benefiting you?
Antenna modelling simulations is the best problem it's solving. Doing RF simulations, electronics measurements for all types of antennas.

What do you like best about Ansys Electronics Desktop?
I have used other Ansys porducts such as Mechanical APDL, Ansys Workbench, extensions like LS-Dyna before and Altium as well. The user interface makes a huge difference in amy simulation softwares and over the years Ansys has honed this area. A critical part for anyone designing circuits.
What do you dislike about Ansys Electronics Desktop?
The learning curve was a little steep for me coming from hardware background. It requires a lot of processing power which is fine for the work it does but better if it can run smoothly with simpler simulation on laptop it would be great to check ideas.
What problems is Ansys Electronics Desktop solving and how is that benefiting you?
Electromagnetic interference and compatibility. It provided a signle platform for creating, model, simulate and develop any circuit product which helps speed track development process. Robust and maintains user-friendly interface.

Experienced a wide range of engineering applications are available to simulate any kind of problem and get satisfying results each time.
What do you dislike about Ansys Electronics Desktop?
Not really on the software usage. But the mesh generation process and quality checks are huge. Cartesian mesh generation is very difficult and time consuming.
