Nice to have

What do you like best about AltSchool?

I love the interactions that the students can have with science. I am very happy that schools pay to engage students. I personally believe that everyone should have a proper time learning science, because it is a hands on type of learning. While not every teacher can do that, this can.

What do you dislike about AltSchool?

I don't like that it is so technology based. I like when students have the freedom to use technology or not. I do not like that it is not that accessible to districts who do not have the money to afford programs like this. I do not think they are spending their money correctly and it is hurting the students.

Recommendations to others considering AltSchool?

Try it! It's pretty good motivation if nothing else. They really try to teach and to give hands on experience to kids. It is nice to know that there is a company out there that focuses on teaching and not just money. However, this costs money.

What problems is AltSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?

We have hopefully solved the problem of bad teachers. I don't like when teachers do not try to engage their students, and this gives them an opportunity to learn.

What do you like best about AltSchool?

The concept of the school is interesting, and I think its an innovative idea. It seems like the the leadership is well experienced and they seem like they know what they are doing/talking about. Also free snacks are always a bonus.

What do you dislike about AltSchool?

I think there are good ideas presented but not tried for long enough to see results, because there's no time to see an effect if its not immediate. I also felt that the senior management isn't ever in the schools, and theres very little job security especially with the high turnover on jobs.

What problems is AltSchool solving and how is that benefiting you?

its initially a very exciting process to be apart of, and the benefits of having flexible time off is very appealing.
