What I like most about Atlair Inspire is its user-friendly interface, which makes topology optimization and simulation design easy to access and use.

What do you like best about Altair Inspire?
I find Altair Inspire to be a powerful simulation-driven design tool that excels at combining creativity with engineering intelligence. It enables me to move from initial concepts to structurally validated, manufacturable designs quickly, confidently, and intelligently. I really appreciate that it allows me to explore innovative ideas freely while ensuring they are structurally sound and manufacturable. What stands out is its ability to integrate modeling, analysis, and optimization into one intuitive platform, providing instant feedback on how a design will perform in the real world. It also encourages smarter, lighter, and more efficient designs from the start. Additionally, setting up Altair Inspire was quick and uncomplicated, making it one of the easiest CAE tools to get started with, especially for engineers new to simulation-driven design. The ease of use, powerful topology optimization, and the ability to bridge creativity with real engineering insight earn it high praise from me.
What do you dislike about Altair Inspire?
Altair Inspire excels at concept-level design and optimization, but it could be improved by expanding advanced simulation depth, enhancing modeling tools, and optimizing performance for large assemblies. Even with these limitations, its core strength combining design creativity with engineering intelligence remains unmatched in its category.

What do you like best about Altair Inspire?
I’d say the best thing about Altair Inspire is how quick it is to go from a basic idea to something you can actually test. You don’t need to be a full-on simulation expert — you can sketch, tweak, run a few checks, and get a decent feel for what’ll work without getting buried in settings.
What do you dislike about Altair Inspire?

It’s especially handy for early-stage design, when you just want to see if an idea makes sense before spending ages modelling it properly. The layout’s clean, the tools are fairly intuitive, and the built-in optimisation gives you useful guidance without much fuss.

Probably the most frustrating thing is that it can feel a bit limited once you want to do anything more advanced. It’s brilliant for early concept work, but when you start needing finer control, detailed meshing options, or more complex boundary conditions, it can get a bit restrictive.

What do you like best about Altair Inspire?
I find Altair Inspire incredibly easy to use, which makes setting up and running simulations straightforward and efficient. The software provides excellent simulation results that are both fast and clear, significantly enhancing the design process. I appreciate its optimization features, which allow parts to be made stronger and lighter, thus improving performance while reducing costs. The quick initial setup process allowed me to dive right into the basic tools without any hassle. Altair Inspire also excels in identifying weak parameters in models, which is invaluable for refining my designs. Furthermore, the capability to create intricate 3D models and visualize them under real conditions stands out. Its speed and accuracy are paramount for me, as these qualities optimize parts and performance effectively.
What do you dislike about Altair Inspire?
I find the learning curve for some of Altair Inspire's advanced features to be challenging. Although once I understand them, everything becomes easier, initially grasping the details can be difficult. Additionally, the software seems limited when handling complex simulations. Setting up detailed boundary conditions or motion constants isn't as intuitive as I would like. I desire more clear, step-by-step guidance integrated into the interface. When working with complex assemblies, the software sometimes struggles with performance and doesn’t offer the deeper analysis options that full FEA packages provide. Incorporating more robust meshing controls, expanded material libraries, and smoother handling of large models would significantly improve the user experience.

Easy optimisation with the easy design space and objectives Fast first step into analysis and deep enough for detail
What do you like best about Altair Inspire?
So quick to get a simple part and assembly analysed and if your computer can handle it, deep enough to get a large assembly analysed too. The optimisations and other analysis types like motion and thermal are simple to use and generate useful results for quick looks
What do you dislike about Altair Inspire?
Sometimes during complex analyses, the solver can fail. It doesn't always generate an error code so you have to guess what is wrong. Perhaps some better mesh refinement and adjustment tools would be great to alleviate this

Geometry editing after receiving CAD for design exploration and sketching new ideas. Automating some part creations like bolts and joints.
